Jaguar also employs select absolute return strategies across capital structures and macro verticals, including derivative overlays to generate additional alpha relative to traditional portfolios.

Chris A. Hammond, CAIA, MSF
Founder, Chief Investment Officer, Portfolio Manager
Mr. Hammond is a dedicated Healthcare investor primarily focused on opportunities in Medical Technology (Medical Supplies and Devices, Life Science Tools, and Diagnostics) and Healthcare Services (HCIT, Distributors, Managed Care, and Providers). He has nearly 20 years of experience in both buy-side and sell-side capacities, covering multiple sectors across fundamental and quantitative disciplines, and has spent the most recent decade+ exclusively focused on Healthcare. Mr. Hammond is the Founder, Chief Investment Officer, and Portfolio Manager of Jaguar Capital, a Healthcare-focused investment manager startup that was founded in January 2020 and is actively recruiting capital.
Prior to founding Jaguar, Mr. Hammond was a Portfolio Manager and Senior Investment Analyst covering Healthcare at Millennium Management LLC where he managed a long/short equity portfolio and was responsible for idea generation on a generalist team. Prior to Millennium, Mr. Hammond was a Senior Investment Analyst covering Healthcare at Surveyor Capital Ltd. (a division of Citadel LLC) where he managed a long/short equity portfolio. Prior to Surveyor, Mr. Hammond was a Senior Associate covering Medical Technology at both Goldman, Sachs & Co. and SunTrust Robinson Humphrey, Inc. on the sell-side. He also has prior experience on the buy-side at Columbia Management where he was an Equity Strategy Portfolio Analyst and Product Manager covering Quantitative Strategies, REITs, and Energy.
Mr. Hammond received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Emory University in Atlanta, GA, with dual majors in Political Science and Psychology. He also received his Master of Science in Finance degree from the Sawyer Business School of Suffolk University in Boston, MA after completing graduate coursework in Economics and Finance from Harvard University in Cambridge, MA. Mr. Hammond is a holder of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation.
